Julie worked as an instructional aide in a self-contained classroom for third to fifth graders for over 10 years. Her personal experience as a mother of a developmentally disabled daughter brought a different perspective to the classroom and other projects. Julie feels the most important aspect to self-worth is to be able to contribute to society. This is her highest priority for her daughter, her family and herself. Currently, Julie volunteers in many areas of the community and in Special Olympics where her daughter is a team member.
